Why Virtual Desktops are Favored by Los Angeles CPAsVirtual desktops offer flexibility and efficiencies for Los Angeles CPAs. Virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) works by allowing someone to access a virtual server by accessing software on his or her existing PC.

Here are some of the reasons why Los Angeles CPAs prefer using virtual desktops.

  1. More manageable hardware costs. Rather than supporting multiple systems across the office, VDI offers the benefit of managing only one system. This cuts the need for replicating the same upgrades across multiple systems.
  2. Addressing issues on one system versus multiple systems. When your system encounters problems, troubleshooting one system can reduce downtime and the cost of fixing the problem. If a user is experiencing an issue, they can simply move to another computer and access the same virtual desktop.
  3. Reduced costs and upgrades. Maintaining a fleet of PCs versus just one system can bring with it significantly higher levels of costs to maintain optimal productivity and performance. While there will be an initial investment required to put the system in place, VDI eliminates the need for multiple software upgrades, patches, and hardware updates.
  4. Improved flexibility for working remotely. Many businesses today are moving towards a more remote working environment. CPAs enjoy the flexibility of being able to work remotely. With a virtual desktop, employees need only to have access to a computer with the right software to access the virtual server.
  5. Enhanced security. Security is a top priority for all Los Angeles CPAs. When implemented correctly, VDI systems can enhance the current security profile of users. This is because data and software applications are not stored on the user’s system, but at the data center that displays this information.

The Bottom Line

While some companies have fully embraced virtual desktops, others are just starting to implement these systems into their businesses. VDI offers a wide variety of advantages to CPAs, and can significantly improve productivity and performance.

As business moves to a more virtual environment, CPAs need to take a hard look at virtual desktops and see how they might fit into their business.
